Every 20 years, a secretive game is held, in which participants duke it out in a battle royale with sorcery, weaponry and hand to hand combat.
Over a hundred different Japanese sorcery associations participate, sending a single Master each to compete. Night by night these participants fight, and take the lives of one another.
One participant is Maiko Mizumaki. She enters the tournament in order to save the life of her dear friend, Hino, who has been afflicted by an Anomaly. In order to save the life of her friend she must survive until the end and obtain the strongest Anomaly Sandalphon.
Brainwashing is a thing. Contracted by large corporations, professional washers can hack into the brains of new employees to instill loyalty and drive. The surge of brainwashing gave birth to deprogrammers, elite washers who can undo brainwashing and break down the human mind. But the washers feared the deprogrammers, and sought to control them. Within this world, a man is found unconscious at the side of the road, his mind crashed by washers. Who is this man, who crashed him, and why? Reality and the mindscape blur as the answers slowly come to light.
Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe is the name of a series of One-Shots featuring Rohan Kishibe (of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part IV) as the narrator and/or protagonist.

- Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe - At a Confessional:
As he is visiting Italy, Rohan decides to research the churches, especially for their architecture and spiritual background. He walks into a confession booth to research the interior, but mistakenly walks into the side reserved for the priest. Shortly after, a man walks into the other side of the booth and confesses his sin to Rohan, believing him to be the priest. Rohan hears his confession anyway, interested in getting information out of the man.
This one-shot was also included in Shikei Shikkouchuu Datsugoku Shinkouchuu.
- Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe - Mutsukabezaka:
Rohan meets his editor, Kagamari Minoru, while reading a De Sta?l’s Art book. Rohan explains that due to his research about the Yokai legend he bought 6 mountains in order to stop a corporation who wanted to build a resort in that area. When the resort plan was abandoned, Rohan’s lands lose its value and he is unable to recover his money. However, Rohan tells his editor the research was a success and begins telling him about it.
- Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe - Millionaire Village:
Rohan Kishibe accompanies Izumi Kyouka, a Manga magazine editor, to a buy house at a village far off from civilization. They soon discover the village is home to a group of millionaires who had all mysteriously become rich at the age of 25. Rohan and Izumi enter one of the houses, only to realize they they are trapped by a mysterious power that won’t let them progress unless they follow specific rules lest they suffer the consequences.

Tonio Trussardi (a minor character featured in Part IV: Diamond Is Unbreakable) seeks Rohan’s help in retrieving a rare type of abalone from the sea near Morioh, as a key ingredient in a dish intended to treat Tonio’s wheelchair-ridden beloved.
- Rohan Kishibe goes to Gucci:
A short story published in the October 2011 issue of the fashion magazine Spur, in which the mangaka mixes advertising for Gucci products with a little supernatural flavour courtesy of Kishibe Rohan and his grandmother’s old traveling bag.

Long, long ago, there lived an eccentric spirit. One who ate the souls of humans and loved "riddles". He would ask anyone who crossed his path sadistic "questions", and if they returned a "stupid answer", they would have their souls eaten without a moment's delay. On the other hand, if they answered with "wit", the spirit would grant a single wish, regardless of what it was. There was a bald, witty genius of a boy who responded magnificently to the spirit's "question". His wish was for the spirit to possess him for the rest of his life!
Description of the serialization Kikai Banashi Hanasaka Ikkyuu:
There once was an ayakashi called Karma who challenged his victims to a battle of wits. If the subject succeeded, the ayakashi would grant them one wish, but if they lost, he would devour their soul. At the same time, there was a young monk called Hanasaku Ikkyuu, who was famed for his cleverness. He used to eagerly sharpen his mind, solving challenging riddles sent to him, until his mother fell ill. When he found that his cleverness was of no use in helping her, he gave it up.
Karma seeks out Ikkyuu, eager to best him in a battle of wits and consume his soul. One day, Ikkyuu rescued a young beggar boy, only to see him fall ill with a mysterious illness. That same day, Karma finally finds Ikkyuu and offers him his dangerous bargain. Thanks to Karma, will Ikkyuu finally have a way to use his cleverness to help the people around him?
