Several bullies directed by Umezawa got into the practice of picking on him, because he kept to himself. One day, he was given a somewhat serious beating by these bullies. A middleweight professional fighter who was passing by to treat his wounds and took the wounded Ippo to the Kamogawa Gym,owned by retired fighter Genji Kamogawa, stopped the bullies. After Ippo woke to the sounds of fighters training, the fighter who saved him, Mamoru Takamura, strove to cheer upward Ippo by letting him vent his frustrations on a sandbag. It was then that they had their first peek into Ippo's gift for boxing.
Next event, Ippo gave lots of idea to the scenario and determined he want to start a job as a professional fighter. He gets verbally reprimanded when he shares this message to Mamoru Takamura: Takamura believed professional boxing was being taken by Ippo too softly. Nevertheless, Takamura believed he could not instantaneously deny Ippo, particularly since his accomplishment of hitting the sandbag considerably more difficult than anybody else in the fitness center (except for Takamura).

Otaku Sakamichi Onoda has just entered high school and plans to join the anime club. In middle school, Onoda didn’t have any friends with whom he could talk about anime, games, Akihabara and other otaku things, and he is hoping he can make such friends in the anime club, but he finds out it's been disbanded. In order to reestablish the club he tries to find 4 other people who would like to join. Since he was a little boy, Onoda has ridden his mamachari–a bulky bicycle with a step-through frame mainly used for short rides, such as for casual fun or to pick up groceries–to go to Akihabara every week to check out or buy otaku things. Fellow freshman Shunsuke Imaizumi and bicyclist, while training, notices a boy (Onoda) riding his mamachari up a steep road. Piccolo Daimao, who, just before expiring, spawns his son/reincarnation Piccolo is subsequently killed by Goku. Karin subsequently directs Goku to Kamisama, the first inventor of the Dragon Balls, renovate his slain buddies and to restore Shenlong. Goku trains under Kami for the following 3 years, once again reuniting in the Tenkaichi Budokai with his buddies, where he narrowly wins against Piccolo before leaving with Chichi to keep his promise to wed her.
Five years after, Goku is a young adult and dad to his son Gohan, when Raditz arrives on Earth, identifies Goku as his smaller brother 'Kakarrot' and discloses to him that they're members of a virtually extinct extraterrestrial race known as the Saiyans (Saiyajin?), who sent Goku to capture Earth for them, until he suffered a serious head injury and lost all memory of his assignment. Goku gives his life to defeat Raditz, and refuses to continue the assignment, sides with Piccolo. Under the North Kaio Goku trains in the afterlife until he's restored by the Dragon Balls to save the Earth from the invading Nappa and Vegeta. In the conflict Yamcha, Chaozu, Tenshinhan, and Piccolo are killed, and the Dragon Balls stop to exist. Kuririn and the galactic tyrant Freeza learn of another set of Dragon Balls on planet Namek (Namekkusei?), whereupon Bulma, Gohan, and Kuririn search to allow them to restore their buddies and later the Earth's Dragon Balls, resulting in a number of conflicts with Freeza's minions and Vegeta, the latter standing alongside the heroes to fight the Ginyu Force, a team of mercenaries. The long fight with Freeza himself comes to a close when Goku gets the better of him and transforms into a Super Saiyan of legends.
Several Androids (Jinzoningen?, "Artificial Humans") created with an associate of the former Red Ribbon Army, Doctor Gero, seem three years after, seeking revenge against Goku.
