    That was a short chapter... I hope it's the end of the flashbacks. IMO him not killing the king is just an excuse. He hasn't been shown to care about the consequences of his actions and even said he didn't care if he lived, so why not take out the king anyways? He doesn't care if he lead to a war where thousands died. And if his wish was to help Estelle die, why lock her up in her new body and not just kill her again? Like now she hates you even more for killing her at all.And I am still angry with what the author is doing with Zed, making him a possessive ass. I hate having this feeling of just wanting this series to end. I've grown to like our ML and FL but with these huge blocks of flashbacks of trying to justify stupid people and writing the leads as stupid and uncommunicative just make this painful. It makes it feel like this is turning into the Setting Sun, which with the hand-drawn style it has a similarity to. Instead of enjoying the story and actual conflict of Zed and Estelle vs Khalid it's just a painful slog of Estelle v Zed v Eozif v Khalid. AND this series REALLY doesn't need that.The main point is there doesn't need to be an attempt to justify Khalid or the Count's actions, because they're irredeemable villains for trying to enslave Estelle. Sometimes a bad guy is just a bad guy and we don't need to sympathize with him... And I am hoping that this series has a happy ending, but I don't want it to just trudge through the mud to get there.
