Baster i don’t understand why are they like that but its fun in its own way if principle and vice principal weren’t like that it wouldn’t be fun to read

Though it wasn't her directly, her family ruined him. He was beaten, physically scarred and mentally broken by her father and his people. Loving her wasn't a magic spell that made all that better so him wanting to break her the way her father did him isn't a off the wall concept. Especially since all his worse actions happened right after he gained a sliver of "freedom" in being engaged to her and after her monster of a father was dead. Again, I'm not defending his actions, he was acting like the same monster her father was in ways, but looking at things from his POV it's understandable how he acted. The story now and what it's been working towards is focusing on both of them realizing faults, him in the way he treated her and her in her ignorance of how other less privileged people suffered while she was allowed to thrive while remaining clueless to the world outside her bubble, and learning to heal and move along with life while being two very broken people who in a better world would have been able to love each other the way they wanted to without all the trauma and strife.
